This looks like a pretty straightforward agenda.
We start the evening with a closed session regarding the undeveloped half of the Corn Palace land. This is followed by the general session, which starts with no less than three special orders. First is recognition of Youth Arts Month, then recognition of National Library Week. The third is recognition of the League of California Cities’ Women’s Caucus “Women of Persistence” honoree. The LCC’s Women’s Caucus has seven board members from various California cities, including Sunnyvale, and the Caucus is recognizing an honoree from each board member’s city.
The consent calendar is a bit long due to our long hiatus. We’ve got a contract to repair damage done to the old landfill, caused by pedestrians and bicyclists. There’s a contract for road maintenance materials, as well as one for slurry seal work. There’s a sewer main replacement contract. There’s the annual report for the Downtown Business Improvement District. There’s an amendment to our agreement with the Museum regarding how utility bills will be handled. And there’s an appointment to the NOVA workforce board.
Item 2 is probably the most significant item – consideration of creating a preferential parking zone on Lori and Shirley Avenues. That neighborhood has been experiencing a significant presence of on-street parking from nearby offices, and they’ve requested to create a residential permit program.
Item 3 has us considering funding $9900 towards a fish barrier on Stevens Creek.
Item 4 is staff’s proposed schedule and “drawing of the line” for this year’s study issues. Council ranked thirteen study issues, and staff is proposing a schedule for nine of them, with four being indeterminate due to the need to identify funding sources (meaning they will be resolved during the budget decision-making), and four falling “below the line”.
And item 5 has us appointing new Commissioners to the Arts and Sustainability Commissions.
That’s about it.
